South West NASUWT

South West Regional Conference @ Croyde Bay

Dates of Regional Conference 2018 – TBC

The Regional Conference, held annually during the Autumn Term, is a chance for teachers in the South West to take more interest in and get more involved in the workings of the NASUWT as well as meeting other teachers.

Apart from the opportunity to debate topical motions there is an emphasis on Work/Life balance with the inclusion of partners and families over the weekend. Accommodation, food and travel costs will be met by your Local Association. A variety of Saturday afternoon activities will also be provided.

Typical programme:

Friday evening – registration, reception and social evening.

Saturday – General Secretary address, debates, activities, children’s entertainer, disco and quiz.

Sunday morning – Debate, presentations and carvery.

Conference motions

Local Associations are requested to submit motions for debate, subject to a ballot of members, by the end of the Summer Term. Details of those motions selected for debate will appear here before Conference.

Conference reports/feedback

Delegates will be given the opportunity to give feedback at the conclusion of the Conference. It is always the intention to improve the quality of the event and the enjoyment of the participants. Conference reports will subsequently be posted here.

A sample of previous activities for family participation on Saturday afternoon would be Surfing, Wine Tasting, Pilates, Bowls, Massage Therapies and Casework Surgeries.

Delegates and their parties are reminded that at all times, whilst at Conference, they are guests of and representatives of the NASUWT.
