South West Regional Conference
South West Regional Conference 16 – 13th October 2018 – Holiday Inn, Taunton
The Regional Conference, held annually during the Autumn Term, is a chance for teachers in the South West to take more interest in and get more involved in the workings of the NASUWT as well as meeting other teachers.
Accommodation, food and travel costs will be met by your Local Association. Workshops on Saturday afternoon will also be provided.

10.00am – 10.45am Conference address
10.45am – 11.00am Coffee break (new delegates/young members to have coffee with Speaker)
11.00am Debating session
1.00pm Notices (lunch opens for Non-delegates/children)
1.10pm Conference breaks for lunch
2.00pm Workshop Session One
3.00pm End of session one
– Voice training
– Behaviour Management/Assertiveness
– Mental Health/Wellbeing
– Caseworker surgery
3.15pm Workshop Session Two
4.15pm End of session two
4.15pm – 5.00pm Further debating session
(Possible time for Therapists etc – TBC)
6.30pm Conference dinner opens for children and families
7.00pm Conference Dinner
8.30pm Margaret Morgan award, Recruitment awards and raffle

Local Associations are requested to submit motions for debate, subject to a ballot of members, by the end of the Summer Term. Details of those motions selected for debate will appear here before Conference.
Delegates will be given the opportunity to give feedback at the conclusion of the Conference. It is always the intention to improve the quality of the event and the enjoyment of the participants. Conference reports will subsequently be posted here.
Delegates and their parties are reminded that at all times, whilst at Conference, they are guests of and representatives of the NASUWT.
