Training with the NASUWT

National and Regional Education and Training Courses

Your entitlement to time off work for trade union training:

Officials of recognised trade unions are entitled to paid time off from work for trade union training. Section 168(2) of the Trade Union and Labour Relations (Consolidation) Act 1992 states that an employer must permit trade union representatives to take time off during their working hours for the purpose of undergoing training in aspects of industrial relations. For NASUWT Representatives, courses must be approved by the NASUWT or TUC.

Please see below for the schedule of training courses in the South West. These training courses will run at the South West Regional Centre in Exeter (unless otherwise specified) and are free to members. Travel expenses are reimbursed and lunch/refreshments are provided. Please see Time Off For Training for details on release for Trade Union activity.
